Twenty-Seven

No comments :

When i was a child i used to think people in their late 20s were really old. This perspective has gradually shifted as i grow. Yes o! Them young ladies NINETIES now see my age grade(unmarried ones especially) as old meat.

I was caught up between youth and maturity when i turned 25(2 years ago). Honestly, i felt horrible. Not because i wasn't married but the thought of not having a stable job made me weep. Friends called to wish me Happy Birthday, the ones way fit console console. The best part of my birthdays is "cake". Thus that was the only thing that made me get off my bed. I made sure i got myself a cake and did a celebration at Mother of Redeemer Orphanage Warri.

The next year 2015 was pretty good. I sure didn't have the "am getting old feeling". Late twenties isn't as bad they say after all. Maybe it's because things wasn't all that tough for me any more. I was in a happy relationship, was working in a shipping firm where the tips was far bigger than the salary and I had friends who turned family back there in Lagos.

Am extremely glad i'm 27.
Yeah am 27. Nor de hep me shame hehehe The real danger about age comes when we let other's reaction to our age determine how we feel about ourselves. If they tell us we look young for our age, we feel good. And if someone judges us to be older than we are, we run to the cosmetics counter, desperate to find the newest wrinkle-be-gone cream. When we make age a non-issue, we take away one more thing we can use as an excuse to feel bad.

One thing i can't comprehend now is what's the true definition of Maturity. Because the child in me makes the bigger part of Vee herself. It makes me Happy. Yea! My friends sometimes tease me. Tried coupla times to compute myself, act all calm and serious, dress norm buh trust is...... The Child Can't Be Tamed.
